Cookie Policy — Milan Super Car Rental
Last updated:
This page explains, for anyone browsing milansupercarrental.com, what cookies and similar technologies are, what this website actually stores in your browser, and which third-party requests occur when the page loads. It is written to reflect exactly what happens on this site — nothing more, nothing less.
Storage used on this site
- Cookie-notice preference (local storage)
- Remembers that you closed the cookie notice, so it does not reappear on every page. Local storage, persists until you clear your browser data; contains no contact details.
- Selected car (session storage)
- Remembers which car you clicked on, so the enquiry form can be prefilled with that model. Session storage, deleted when the tab is closed or the form is sent.
- Google Fonts request
- Loads the typefaces used on the site from Google's servers; Google receives the visitor's IP address as part of the request. No cookie is set for us.
- jsDelivr CDN (intl-tel-input)
- Loads the library that formats the phone-number field in our enquiry forms; the CDN provider receives the visitor's IP address as part of the request. No cookie is set for us.
1. What cookies and similar technologies are
Cookies are small text files that a website can place in a visitor's browser to recognise the device on later visits. Local storage and session storage work similarly: they are small amounts of data kept by the browser itself, either until deliberately cleared (local storage) or until the tab is closed (session storage). These technologies can be used for strictly technical purposes, such as remembering a preference, or for tracking a person's behaviour across sites, which is a separate and more sensitive use.
2. No cookies, no tracking, set by us
milansupercarrental.com does not set any cookies of its own. We have not installed any analytics tool, advertising pixel or social-media tracker on the site, so there is no behavioural profiling, no audience measurement and no advertising retargeting running on these pages. Whether you are comparing one of our fifteen cars, reading about wedding hire, or checking an airport delivery option, your browsing is not being tracked for marketing purposes.
3. Browser storage we do use
Two small entries are kept directly in your browser, listed in the table above: one remembers that you dismissed the cookie notice, the other remembers which car you were viewing so the enquiry form can open pre-filled with that model. Both are purely functional, contain no name, email, phone number or other contact detail, and are not shared with anyone. The session entry disappears on its own once you close the tab or submit the form; the local-storage entry stays until you clear it yourself.
4. Third-party requests when the page loads
To display text correctly, the site loads web fonts from Google Fonts; this causes the visitor's browser to contact Google's servers directly, and Google receives the visitor's IP address as part of that request. To format the phone-number field in our enquiry and airport-delivery forms, the site loads the intl-tel-input library from the jsDelivr content delivery network, which similarly receives the visitor's IP address. Neither of these requests sets a cookie for our benefit, and we do not use either service for advertising or profiling.
WhatsApp buttons on the site do not open a chat or load any WhatsApp code until you actually tap the button. Before that click, nothing is set or requested from WhatsApp. Once you tap, the click itself — the page URL, referrer, language and the prefilled message text — is recorded in our own booking system so we can follow up, and WhatsApp then opens as a separate application or page, governed by WhatsApp's (Meta's) own privacy policy, which we do not control.
5. Controlling storage in your browser
You can view, block or delete local storage, session storage and any cookies through your browser's settings, usually found under privacy or site data options. Clearing this data will simply make the cookie notice reappear and remove the prefilled car selection; it will not affect any enquiry you have already sent us, since enquiry data is held in our booking system rather than in your browser. If your browser is set to block third-party requests entirely, the site will still function, though fonts or the phone-field formatting may fall back to a simpler default.
6. Future changes and your rights
If we ever decide to add optional cookies, for example for analytics, we will ask for your consent beforehand through a proper cookie banner, and we will update this page to describe the new technology, its purpose and its duration before it is activated. This policy is issued under Article 122 of the Italian Privacy Code and the cookie guidelines of the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali, the Italian supervisory authority (www.garanteprivacy.it), to which you may lodge a complaint if you believe your rights have been breached. For any question about this page or about how your data is handled, write to [email protected]; we aim to respond within one month and may ask you to confirm your identity before doing so.
